Preparation Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER
If Algae or Green Growth is present, a pre-treatment with Green CLEAR is advised.
Before any application of the Tarmac RESTORER, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and loose stones are swept away.
Clean the tarmac by jet washing with reduced pressure to avoid damage to the surface.
Carry out any tarmac repairs that may be required use Crack Repair Compound for holes and cracks. Cold Lay Repair for larger potholes.
Application Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER
Apply Tarmac RESTORER to a clean, dry tarmac surface with temperatures above 12 degrees with no rain is forecast for at least 3 hours after the application of the Tarmac RESTORER has finished.
For best results, it is advisable to use a long-handled Roller Set with a medium pile head. A soft broom or tarmac paintbrush can be used for borders or hard to get to areas, but generally, a Roller Set is best.
Two coats of Tarmac RESTORER are recommended. Average coverage ratios are 40-60sq.* metres per 20 Litre drum (60 sq. metres if the tarmac is in good condition but has lost colour and faded over time; 40 sq. metres for poorer quality tarmac surfaces).
Prior to commencing application, thoroughly shake the container. This will ensure the pigment and the slip-enhancing additive within the product are mixed thoroughly and not settled at the bottom of the container.
Leave 2-4 hours between coats and shake the container each time before pouring into tray or roller.
Areas adjacent to neighbours driveways, flower beds or lawns should be masked off to avoid unwanted coverage.
After application, keep vehicles off for 24 hours and foot traffic for 2-4 hours.
Maintenance Guidelines for Tarmac RESTORER
Any ongoing maintenance should be restricted to a gentle sweep and a washdown once or twice a year.
The Tarmac RESTORER itself is a very durable product, but as with any other external product, it will require re-application from time to time. For Tarmac Driveways that receive an average amount of traffic, a top-up coat of Tarmac RESTORER is recommended, on average, every 5 years.
For Tarmac Driveways that are more heavily trafficked or are in very shady, damp conditions, more frequent top-up coats may be necessary.
Q: Hi there, Hi would I be able to use tarmaseal on a drive that has been painted before? I have no idea what product was used before though. Thanks Cliff
A: This is something that is hard for us to confirm without knowing what the previous product is. Ideally the Tarmac RESTORER should be applied to unpainted tarmac so it can soak in and replace any lost resins in the surface. It would be best to proceed with caution and do a test patch first and leave for a few weeks to see how it performs.
Q: Can I apply tarmac seal when the temperature is 25c
A: You could apply the tarmac restorer whe it is 25c but that would be the absolute limit. Ideally a few degrees lower would be better.
Q: How long after using cold lay can tarmac restorer be applied over it?
A: You should be able to apply the tarmac restorer within a few hours after the tarmac cold lay has been used and compacted down.

Not only is the end result really good (it was seeing a neighbour's tarmac drive looking like it had been relaid which prompted me to look into the product) but the viscosity of the product has been formulate to make application of the tarmac restorer cleaning and neatly trivial to achieve. The claim of next day delivery was met too. 6 stars
My tarmac drive was 40 years old and the tarmac was thin in places. I filled the larger worn pieces with the cold lay repair tarmac and the smaller cracks with the crack repair before using the tarmac restorer. Approximately 50m2 I bought 35 litres. The first coat, which I put on thick took 20 litres and it took just over 4 hours to dry on a hot day. The second coat took 10 litres and dried in about an hour. The results are astonishing, looks like a new drive. There is now now loose tarmac and hopefully will be good for another few years at least. The best 257 diy project ive had.
I normally wait a while to leave reviews so that I can we how the product lasts but the tarmac restorer and equipment supplied was second to none. The only thing I would advise you to tarmac is to sell bitumen cold joint sealer (aerosol). I used this in conjunction with the cold lay tarmac in order for it to bond better to the existing tarmac. Overall an outstanding product. Ps: Ive been asked twice by residents if I can do theres!?
